⁴ Then the Lord said to him, “This is the land that I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, when I said I will give it to your descendants.^[a] I have let you see it with your eyes, but you will not cross over to it.”

⁵ So Moses, the servant of the Lord, died there in the land of Moab as the Lord had said. ⁶ The Lord buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth Peor, but no one knows his burial place to this day.
